Psychosexual Therapy
Psychosexual therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space to explore and resolve sexual concerns, deepen intimacy, and reconnect with your body and desires. Whether you're experiencing low desire, painful sex, arousal difficulties, shame, or the impact of past trauma—or simply wish to better understand your relationship with sex—this therapy provides a supportive framework rooted in the biopsychosocial model. This means we explore how your biology, psychology, relationships, culture, and life experiences all contribute to your sexual wellbeing.

Sexuality is never just physical. It is emotional, relational, and deeply personal. Informed by the work of Esther Perel, Emily Nagoski, Meg-John Barker, Silva Neves, and others, psychosexual therapy explores how desire, love, and eroticism evolve, particularly in long-term relationships. You’ll learn how arousal systems differ among individuals, and why stress, context, and emotional safety often matter more than technique. The approach is trauma-informed and queer-affirmative, embracing sexual and gender diversity while integrating neuroscience, attachment theory, and compassion-focused strategies. This creates a space where recovery from sexual trauma and problematic compulsive sexual behaviours is both possible and supported with care.

Together, we explore the interplay between biological influences such as hormones, medications, or physical health; psychological factors including anxiety, shame, trauma, or low self-esteem; and social and relational dynamics such as communication, cultural expectations, identity, and intimacy. Each of these elements helps us better understand how your experiences have shaped your relationship with sex and what may be getting in the way of connection or satisfaction.

Sessions are typically held weekly or biweekly and are tailored to your goals, pace, and comfort. Therapeutic methods may include talk therapy, somatic awareness (with no physical touch involved), communication tools, and values-based exercises—all designed to support meaningful, sustainable change.

Psychosexual therapy is not about performance. It’s about helping you reclaim a sense of agency, pleasure, and connection. Whether you are working individually or with a partner, this process supports a more integrated, empowered, and fulfilling relationship with your sexuality—and with yourself.
